I am a Utah photographer that shoots on-location, using natural light 90% of the time. I love photographing newborns, babies, children, families, seniors and weddings! I shoot primarily in Davis, Weber and Salt Lake counties, but will travel anywhere!
I made him model for me.
He did pretty good I think!
He does almost every thing I ask!
And he’s the best daddy ever. Our children completely adore him.
I do a quick photo shoot with each of my kids when they have a birthday and thought “why not do a quick shoot with the old man!” And by ‘old’ I mean ‘old’

It is March 18th, 2013 and I have taken out my nice camera just once (once!?!) since 2013 began to take pictures of my own family.
My iPhone has become far too convenient.
And it’s fun and fast.
And sometimes it just doesn’t matter that it might be a little blurry. You captured the moment and that is what matters, right?
But you can also make some decent pictures with your iPhones! There are some great apps out there. One of my favorites is Camera Awesome (click here).

And for editing I love PicTapGo (clickhere). Super duper easy to use and I love being able to save my “recipes” for later use.

How many times have I said this at each stage of his life??? COUNTLESS! Gosh dang if someone would have told me how much I would my little man I might have rolled my eyes at them. IT’S CRAZY TRUE! He is my little buddy and my shadow. I love him beyond description.
I love documenting the “normal-ness” of life. The images that can be taken in the comfort of your own home on an ordinary day are the best! I think that’s why we love having our iphone cameras and programs like Instagram. The day-to-day snapshots can say so much more about who we are than a formal family portrait (although those are great too!).

Here are the scoops:
My first session of 2013 was held this week in the freezing snow. It was a balmy 30-something degrees outside…..practically summer with the single digits we’ve been experiencing off and of since Christmas! These guys were troopers! I actually really love shooting in the snow because of how the colors pop against the white snow background and because they are unique! But not all families are brave enough….that’s a challenge. Are you game??? Call me and we’ll get it booked at the fall mini session price!
I love birth photography. Love love love it! I have been fortunate enough to photograph a few and they are hands down the most amazing, breathtaking (literally!) sessions ever. The images are emotional and raw and real and capture those fleeting moments forever.
On the flip side:
With that being said…..
If you want a birth photographer YOU GO GIRL!!! I have some great references for you until I offer them once again in the next few years. Just email me and I will give you some names you will be more than happy with.
Another option is having a “hospital session” which is a session that takes place at some point within your hospital stay after the birth. For most of my clients it has taken place the next day, once the pain and cone heads have subsided a bit!
