I might not be a good writer, but hopefully the pictures will keep you coming back for more. Thanks to Jean Smith Photography for this image of me and my 2 sweetie pies!

Oh how I have loved working with Lindsay! Chris, too of course! But usually there is a lot more communication between me and the bride, and I seriously miss my brides after the big day! I have been so lucky in my career to work with so many fun and beautiful (inside and out) brides!
Here are a few from their winter wedding day a few weeks ago: (fyi… I got a new computer and my monitor calibrator will not work it with it! so if these colors look a little off….don’t be hatin’ too much! I’m workin’ on it)

Ok, so this next one I was playing in the bright noon-ish sun and even though its probably not the image you would print for your wall I like how different it is. Expirementing with light can be lots of fun. My hubby saw this one and said “I like how you can see her eyelashes”…something I hadn’t noticed! But he didn’t like the powerlines and I do! I love how they lead my eye to them. What do you think???

These images of Lindsay’s cute little girl are some of my faves!!! Just look at her! She knows she is so cute! I wish all of us women could look in the mirror each day and think the same about ourselves!

I loved her! By the end of the reception we were BFFs
And her handsome boys:
I loved catching Mr. G signing the guest book in his best cursive writing. So cute.
A few details….

Lindsay and Chris… Congrats again! I have loved working with you two and wish you all the best in your new life together!
oh, and never take life too seriously

My favorite product that comes in my wedding collections is the engagement album/guest sign-in book. I think it’s my favorite for a few reasons:
Recently I found a new guest album book design and had to purchase it for my clients! It’s called the Interactive Guest Book and I think it’s fab-u-lous!!! All of my wedding clients will be able to choose from something like this or my other designs. Either way… you can’t go wrong!
Here are a few examples of the new album design:

Cute, huh? I love it! Plus, all the colors and even the text is customizable to match your wedding colors and/or the colors in your images.
Ok, you want this album, right??? All weddings booked with Heather Mickey Photography through the end of this February (the month of love) will receive 5% off the regular wedding collection price!!! (excludes “the basics” collection)
Happy Wednesday!
You have to listen to this if you are a mom!
I would love to be able to express myself through eloquent words, but that is definitely not one of my talents! This video was created by Katherine Center
Lindsay and Brad were married the week before Christmas and I am just barely getting around to posting these! Ridiculous! Is anyone else here in Utah sick of the cold and smoggy skies??? It makes me lazy!!! I am in serious need of a vacation ….. and spring… and sunshine!!!
It might have looked (and felt) like a cold winter wedding day….
but Lindsey and Brad were on fire!

Lots of kissing, I know! They seem to always be my favorites!!! I love romance!
Lindsey mentioned early on that she might sing for Brad at their wedding luncheon and I was so excited when I found out she was for sure! After all, she is part of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She had to sing, right? She’s practically famous! She sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love” to her new hubby. Ohmyword. It’s a good thing I had to 2 cameras I could hold in front of my face to hide a few tears. It was so beautiful and heart felt. If you look closely at Brad’s cheek you might see a tear there too. A man who’s not afraid to show emotion…ahhhh. Gotta love.
Oh and a special shout out to my business partner for the day….
I loved working with Brad and Lindsey! Both of them are very nice, very genuine people…the kind of people other people like to be around. You know those kind. From the first moment I saw them together I could see the complete love and respect they have for each other. I miss my couples once we are done working together after the wedding day
But the good news is we still are going to go their full bride and groom session (aka “groomals”) when the weather warms up! And they better call me for newborn pictures… but in a few years!

I love taking photographs in all sorts of funky locations, but sometimes the simplicity of what can be captured in the comfort of your own home is just perfect. I love that this little man’s parents wanted to capture him in a white onesie. So simple. So perfect.
And you gotta love how a 6 month old sucks on their toes! Ok, so maybe we had to help him find them and gently guide them towards his mouth
Some of my favorite images of my own children are the closeups of their feet in their mouth. Why is it sooo cute???
And we also went outside for a few shots in the chilly weather! I think it was like 28 degrees (yikes!) but totally worth it!
Thanks “H” family….for being troopers in the cold…..for trusting me to photograph your little man since he was just a bun in the oven…and thanks for making my head getting really big when I walked into your house and my images were plastered all over!!!
And if you live in Utah….you gotta have your family pics taken in the snow at least once. It’s gorgeous!!! I want to do it with my own family. Hmm….maybe I will do some mini sessions in the snow. Email me or leave a comment if you think that is something you would like and I will put something together!
