I have been a blog slacker the last few months. I admit it.
Life is crazy, what can I say?
We got an offer on our home the same week we found out we were pregnant with baby #3!
So, needless to say the last nearly 5 months have been filled with growing a baby (and all of the sickness and fatigue that comes along with that) and also countless trips back and forth to our new home and making decisions on paint, carpet, cabinets, yadda yadda yadda. Not to mention ”normal” life and all the fun summer things to do on top of it all. It has been exhausting, but I know it will all be worth it. It is all worth it.
I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all my friends, family, clients, and blog readers who visit this blog. I appreciate the love and support. I will not be around much the next week or so as we move into our new home and get the internet up and running. Hopefully it won’t take too long! So if you don’t hear back from me immediately, just know I will get back with you asap. Or you can always call me! And stay tuned for upcoming mini sessions…to be announced the first part of August. Also, I will stop shooting in mid-October this year to get ready for our baby’s arrival. If you want to book a session during the most busy time of the year (fall) call me or email me asap. Thanks!
By the way… it’s a BOY! I am five months along and I have 2 very excited daughters who are thrilled to be big sisters to a new baby boy. I am still not sure what to think about this whole boy thing!?! But I am excited for the adventure! By the way I have a ton of little girl clothes in storage and if anyone knows anyone in need that could use newborn-3T clothes please send me an email to heathermickeyphoto(at)gmail(dot)com
Ok, I will leave you with a few pictures of my favorite people in the world! My sweet little girls who have been so extremely patient during this crazy time in our life! I LOVE THEM SOOOO MUCH IT HURTS!!!!

Can it be? This little boy is already ONE??? Seems like it was just a few weeks ago I photographed his birth and newborn pics! He wasn’t too interested in my camera, which is pretty typical of a one-year-old as they have their own agenda most of the time. But despite that, we still got some cute images. Here are just a handful:

Something a little different for me, but I think it looks kinda cool!
We tried to give him a cake, but he hates being dirty. He was not about to put it in his mouth and the majority of the frosting on his legs was an accident, not because he was actually touching it! I think it’s so funny that kids either LOVE or HATE their cate….at least from my experiences. As soon as he figured he could get away from the cake… he was outta there! I love that disgusted look on his face!

Happy Birthday, Mr. R! It has been so much fun watching you grow this last year! Just SLOW DOWN a bit, huh??? I am sure your momma would agree!!!

You know when you look at your little girl as she colors or runs through the sprinklers or gets tickled by her dad or plays with her stuffed animals or eats a popsicle and she still looks like your little girl? And then you take a picture of her and it takes your breath away because you see more than a little girl? This was one of those moments for me….
And the reason for my blog title “Wait! Whoa! Who? What? When did this happen????”
My little girl is really growing up. But I will keep her eating popsicles and running through sprinklers and getting tickled by her daddy and coloring as long as possible.

…..better bedhead, that is! My little girl has the world’s most amazing/awful/funny/gnarly bedhead. Each morning when her sweet face greets me I just shake my head. We call it “cotton candy.” The other morning she snuck outside to play and when I saw her “cotton candy” glowing in the morning sun I couldn’t resist.

This cute Jones couple is expecting their first baby. I about died when she said she was 6.5 months prego!!! You can hardly even see a belly! Oh, what would it be like to be nearly 6 feet tall? My 5′1.75″ self will never know! But I am so happy for them. Expecting your first baby is soooo exciting!!! Megan….you better be calling me for newborn portraits!

And how cute is this? All these sisters-in-law will have added a new wee one to the family in less than a year! So cute!
