Heather Mickey Photography - Welcome to my blogsite!

***I will have very limited (if any) internet access from July 22, 2010-??? as we move into a new home. Please call me if it is urgent. Otherwise, just be aware it may take some time to get back with you via email. Crossing fingers it's just a few days! Thanks for your understanding! :)***

Welcome to my photo blog. Here you'll find my favorite images from recent sessions and even some of my own kiddos at times when they are sweet enough to indulge me in my photo habit! I might not be a good writer, but hopefully the pictures will keep you coming back for more. Thanks to Jean Smith Photography for this image of me and my 2 sweetie pies!

If you are interested in having me photograph what means most to you click on "contact me" above to get more details.

I am a Utah photographer that shoots on-location, using natural light 90% of the time. Ok, here’s the deal….

I have been a blog slacker  the last few months. I admit it.

Life is crazy, what can I say?

We got an offer on our home the same week we found out we were pregnant with baby #3!

So, needless to say the last nearly 5 months have been filled with growing a baby (and all of the sickness and fatigue that comes along with that) and also countless trips back and forth to our new home and making decisions on paint, carpet, cabinets, yadda yadda yadda. Not to mention ”normal” life and all the fun summer things to do on top of it all. It has been exhausting, but I know it will all be worth it. It is all worth it.

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all my friends, family, clients, and blog readers who visit this blog. I appreciate the love and support. I will not be around much the next week or so as we move into our new home and get the internet up and running. Hopefully it won’t take too long! So if you don’t hear back from me immediately, just know I will get back with you asap.  Or you can always call me! And stay tuned for upcoming mini sessions…to be announced the first part of August. Also, I will stop shooting in mid-October this year to get ready for our baby’s arrival. If you want to book a session during the most busy time of the year (fall) call me or email me asap. Thanks!

By the way… it’s a BOY! I am five months along and I have 2 very excited daughters who are thrilled to be big sisters to a new baby boy. I am still not sure what to think about this whole boy thing!?! But I am excited for the adventure! By the way I have a ton of little girl clothes in storage and if anyone knows anyone in need that could use newborn-3T clothes please send me an email to heathermickeyphoto(at)gmail(dot)com

Ok, I will leave you with a few pictures of my favorite people in the world! My sweet little girls who have been so extremely patient during this crazy time in our life! I LOVE THEM SOOOO MUCH IT HURTS!!!!girls1_bloggirls5_bloggirls4_bloggirls7_bloggirls9_bloggirls6_bloggirls8_bloggirls2_blog

Mr. One Year Old

Can it be? This little boy is already ONE??? Seems like it was just a few weeks ago I photographed his birth and newborn pics! He wasn’t too interested in my camera, which is pretty typical of a one-year-old as they have their own agenda most of the time. But despite that, we still got some cute images. Here are just a handful:rh1rh2rh3rh4rh6

Something a little different for me, but I think it looks kinda cool!rh5

We tried to give him a cake, but he hates being dirty. He was not about to put it in his mouth and the majority of the frosting on his legs was an accident, not because he was actually touching it! I think it’s so funny that kids either LOVE or HATE their cate….at least from my experiences. As soon as he figured he could get away from the cake… he was outta there! I love that disgusted look on his face! :) rh7

Happy Birthday, Mr. R! It has been so much fun watching you grow this last year! Just SLOW DOWN a bit, huh??? I am sure your momma would agree!!! rh8

Ain’t she sweet??? [Utah Child Photography]

Sweet and pretty as can be!mp2mp4mp7mp6mp1mp3mp5 And her eyes are the prettiest blue you’ve ever seen! I love you, little M! :)

Wait! Whoa! Who? What? When did this happen????

You know when you look at your little girl as she colors or runs through the sprinklers or gets tickled by her dad or plays with her stuffed animals or eats a popsicle and she still looks like your little girl? And then you take a picture of her and it takes your breath away because you see more than a little girl? This was one of those moments for me….girls3_blog

And the reason for my blog title “Wait! Whoa! Who? What? When did this happen????”

My little girl is really growing up. But I will keep her eating popsicles and running through sprinklers and getting tickled by her daddy and coloring as long as possible.

Nobody does it better….

…..better bedhead, that is! My little girl has the world’s most amazing/awful/funny/gnarly bedhead. Each morning when her sweet face greets me I just shake my head. We call it “cotton candy.” The other morning she snuck outside to play and when I saw her “cotton candy” glowing in the morning sun I couldn’t resist. bedhead

Happy [belated] 4th of July!!!

I hope you all had a fun holiday weekend! I know this little man did!beau_1

I have been a bad bad bad blogger lately! But there is good reason for that (which I will save for another day!) Thanks for hanging in there with me! For now, how about a few more pictures of what summer should be like?!?beau_6beau_5beau_3beau_4beau_5 (hmmm…..the colors on these pics look crappy after I upload :(   does anyone else see this???)

One Year Old!

Sweet Miss A just turned the big O-N-E! Wasn’t it just yesterday we took these….her newborn portraits???? Time flies! But she still has the cutest face and the prettiest blue eyes! She wasn’t too excited about having her pictures taken (darn those new teeth!) but I still think we managed some cute ones! :) ab-6ab-4ab-5ab-2ab-1
